My Experience in Sudan

Updated: Nov 30, 2018

My experience of representing Tanzania in Sudan was very educating and motivating. Not only did the swimming teach me a lot, but it also greatly encouraged me to push myself harder in training and renewed my passion for swimming. My experience in the river Nile however was much more challenging than I imagined it being. It was dark, scary, cold and to top it all off, I had thoughts of crocodiles which scared me.

Although, at the same time it was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. I placed 2nd to Kenya in the 3km open swim, received a medal and lots of pb’s (personal best) in my other races. During my time in Sudan I made a lot of friends, memories and gained a lot of knowledge about the country and its culture.
