Fundraising

Students, staff and parents frequently come together in order to raise money for a variety of enterprises that the school supports – from educating orphans through Saturday School, to the Forever Angels baby home, internal school facilities such as the school pool, Starehe Orphanage and Bridge to Aid. There are also opportunities to work with these organisations to offer our time and expertise in support of their endeavours (indeed in some cases former employees of Isamilo now manage or help to manage these organisations). The 6th Form students at the school actually spend a compulsory session every week in support of a community organisation.

Fundraising for the school’s own charity, Saturday School, is primarily lead by the PTA who organise annual events such as the Charity Fair, Cross Country, Sports Day, support of the Secondary School Play, and International Arts & Cultures Day and a host of other smaller activities. The pupils also take the initiative and events such as non uniform days or giving clothing and toys are regularly planned.

As a result of these activities Isamilo International’s Saturday School offers education to over 100 Tanzanian orphans who would not otherwise receive an education or an opportunity to use facilities such as the swimming pool.
