Isamilo International School operates from two sites and covers the Early Years foundation stage and five Key Stages, following the British schooling system. Within these our school is split into four distinct sections that work closely together under one Headmaster.
The Early Years Department covers both the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. The Foundation Stage incorporates both Pre-school classes as well as Reception, for children ages between 3 and 5 years. Key Stage 1 covers Years 1 and 2, children generally ages between 5 and 7 years. The Foundation Stage and Year 1 are situated at Bishop Wiggins House, a short walk away from the main school site. Year 2 currently work alongside the Junior Department at the main school.
The Junior Department accommodates children aged between 7 and 11 years. Within it the Key Stage 2 curriculum is followed by pupils in Years 3- 6.
From here students move into the Secondary Department which covers Key Stages 3, 4 and, more recently, 5. Key Stage 3 generally caters for students aged between 11 and 14. At Key Stage 4 (between 14 and 16 years old) students undertake their iGCSE courses and examinations.
Key Stage 5 is a higher education option providing A-Levels and preparing students (usually between the ages of 16 and 18) for University. Since this requires dedicated guidance on careers and universities plus a more adult approach to study, although it is part of the Secondary Department it also has a separate and dedicated Head of Department who works closely with the Secondary Head.
