The Junior Department runs a wide range of after school activities thanks to the wide ranging talents and enthusiasm of our staff. There are usually around fifteen different clubs to choose from. These take place for one hour after school on most days of the week. The nature of clubs changes regularly giving the children a variety of activities to try in their time here at the school. Clubs are optional but most children take part in a t least one club every week. They are able to sign up for clubs on a termly basis.
Examples of clubs that have been offered recently include
As well as performing in two class assemblies a year, the children also take part in an annual Junior Department Production. This involves all the children from Year Three to Year Six and is usually held at the end of Term Two. Although, after auditioning, the older children generally have the lion share of the main parts, we aim to have all the children on stage at some point performing in a dance or song.
The children really enjoy these productions and they are an excellent opportunity for them to improve in confidence, develop different stage skills and improve their spoken English.
