Students have a full programme each day, waking at 6:00am, having breakfast at 6:30am, making their beds, packing their school bags and leaving for school by 7:30 am. Lunch is taken at school and all boarders are expected to either participate in activities or make a start on their homework before returning to the hostel by 5:30pm. There is some time for relaxation before supper at 6:30pm, which is followed by supervised homework until 9:00pm. Finally (after all chores have been completed, rooms tidied, shoes polished and laundry collected) children can relax prior to going to bed at the designated ‘lights out time’. This time varies depending on the age of the student.
Weekends
We also offer weekly boarding in which children are able to go home on a Friday evening and return to school in time for lessons on the Monday morning. For those who remain over the weekend a structured timetable ensures the right balance between participation in organised activities and valuable relaxation and social time. The pool, field, ICT facilities and hall are all available and supervised at various times throughout the weekend. Occasionally trips are laid on and of course students who wish to will be allowed to attend their regular place of worship.
