A home away from home boarding experience is always extremely difficult to establish given the different backgrounds, cultural dynamics and the diversity of personal needs the boarders come in with. Living in the boarding community provides the opportunity for students to encounter these differences and to develop skills in building relationships, equipping them for life in the wider world. Alongside this we endeavour to give the students the support they need to adapt and grow through the caring support of Boarding parents and matrons.
The pattern and routine of boarding life also lends itself to supporting students in their studies. Regular times for study, recreation and rest are built in to the rhythm of the community. The team of boarding parents, assistant parents and matrons at each boarding house work hard to create a family atmosphere in which students in boarding can feel encouraged and supported in their personal, academic and spiritual growth.
The school is also able to offer facilities for ICT, swimming and sporting activity which can be accessed by students during the weekends and school transport enables access to relevant off site outdoor activities and social events.
